Regional Vice President of Operations, UHS Behavioral Health Division
CEO/Managing Director of The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health, Greer, South Carolina
John Willingham is an avid bicyclist and always wondered what it would be like to cycle across a state. He had the opportunity to find out in 2012 and again in 2013 when he was able to ride across his state and help support the South Carolina Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association at the same time.
For two consecutive years, John and a team of colleagues, employees and friends participated in the annual three-day, 250-mile Ride to Remember across South Carolina to raise money for the state chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
In his first year riding in the event, John participated two of the three days and called it “a remarkable experience.” He was one of the top fundraisers in his first year, so he decided to build a larger team in 2013. He and members of his staff created the Carolina Center Psych-Lists riding team and completed the entire 250 miles in July, again being part of one of the top fundraising teams in the event.
Congratulations to the Psych-Lists for being heroes in the community.
