Even a healthy person needs dental care. UHS offers two plans so employees can choose the one that best meets their needs, or decline dental coverage.
Both dental plans pay benefits for the same care and services but differ in how much employees pay per pay and how much they pay at the time they receive services.
Both dental plans provide benefits for:
- Preventive services, such as oral exams, cleanings, fluoride treatment (through age 19) and X-rays
- Basic services, such as fillings, extractions, root canal therapy and treatment of gum disease
- Major services, such as inlays, crowns, bridges and dentures
- Orthodontic services
- Enhanced benefits during pregnancy, including an additional oral evaluation and the choice of an additional periodontal scaling/root planing, additional prophylaxis or an additional periodontal maintenance procedure.
