Honored for steady growth and financial stability, UHS ranks ninth among only 31 companies to receive this distinguished recognition. The Shareholder Honor Roll recognizes companies whose average compound annual total returns were in the top 20% for the past one, three, five and ten years through December 31, 1997.

1998 Ellis Island Medal Of Honor To Alan B. Miller

Presented by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations Foundation, Inc. this prestigious award honors Alan B. Miller for his "exceptional humanitarian efforts and outstanding contributions to the country" through healthcare. Past recipients have included U.S. Presidents, entrepreneurs, religious leaders and business executives. Among them are Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Coretta Scott King and Barbara Walters.

1998 Greater Philadelphia/ Delaware Valley Human Resources Department of The Year Award

This annual recognition is intended to identify human resource departments who have demonstrated service excellence to their organizations. UHS was among three national corporate winners. Judges cited our Human Resources Department as being aligned with the core UHS strategy for high quality operations and profitability.

The College Fund/UNCF Chairman's Award to Alan B. Miller June 27, 1996

UHS Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer Alan B. Miller was honored at the 19th Annual Recognition Banquet of the Inter-Alumni Council and Philadelphia Advisory Board of The College Fund/UNCF. He was recognized for his distinguished service as the 1996-97 Chairman of the Philadelphia, PA, UNCF Corporate Campaign and for his commitment to the higher education of students in the Delaware Valley. The United Negro College Fund is a national campaign to benefit private black colleges.
